Andrea Green

Andrea Green and the Southern European Zhineng Qigong team in Lampedusa: natural oasis, practice and hospitality at La Roccia.

Andrea Green

The Southern European Zhineng Qigong centre was created — and continues to be run — by Andrea Ginevra Jane Green, an English woman who has lived for the last 35 years on the island of Lampedusa. Andrea has many years of experience as a Zhineng Qigong teacher and practice leader. Her interest is particularly focused on medical qigong and the healing aspects of the practice: she has personally experienced the healing potential of these exercises, and her aim is to offer others the information and the possibility to use the power of this discipline.

The valley: an island within the island

Together with her husband Umberto, Andrea created a natural oasis by planting thousands of trees and flowering plants in a valley of this semi-desert island. Thanks to an ingenious recycling system invented by Umberto, the valley is now known as "the island within the island": a wooded, flowering valley gently descending to a small beach. It is so rich with life that it has become a natural calling point for migratory birds and all the animals of the island — and its very strong qi field makes it a perfect place to practise Zhineng Qigong, immersed in nature.

The La Roccia village

Also known as Villaggio La Roccia, the centre offers delightful eco-style cabins, designed with great simplicity but with all comforts and facilities. The centre is open all year round.
